Zain and Ericsson Mobile Communication Network services have jointly provided communication and broadband internet services to the 30 communities in the Bonsaaso Millenium Village cluster in the AmansieWest District. [2009-11-16 11:01:19]
Launching the facility at Manso Watreso, the Minister of Communications, Mr. Haruna Iddrisu, noted the provision of mobile phones to community health woerkers would enhance health delivery in the area.
He commended Zain and Ericsson for making mobile communication
affordable and accessible in the area, and hoped it would enhance
leraning and research.
The Country Manager of Zain, Mr. Philip Sowah, indicated that in the
past one year, the two companies had partnered the Millenium Village
Project to attain the development goal of halving poverty by 2015.
He said the gesture by the comcompanies was an excellent example of how private organisations could work in parnership with government and aid agencies towards developing the african continent.
